Kitchen

You can't have a conversation or watch TV whilst cooking because some engineers somewhere decided "bigger is better" and now your rangehood sounds like a launching rocket whenever you turn it on.

Maybe you got distracted by the latest episode of Desperate Housewives and the bath overflowed. Or maybe your dishwasher hose sprung a leak whilst you were at work. Some reasons for flooding the house are preventable, some aren't.

You can never seem to remember which knob lights which element on your stove top. Now after a few years into your new house, the symbols that indicate the element's position next to each knob on the face of the stove are starting to wear off, making matters worse.

So you're watching Netflix. Or streaming music. Or on a video call with the family or CEO, depending on your priorities. Suddenly, your wifi drops and so does your heart. But within a few minutes, you're back online. What just happened?

Your pot drawer or pot cupboard is a mess. What started out as an idyllic dream of culinary order quickly unraveled after just a few months into your new house. Now everything's a mess and you can't be arsed fixing it because it's all too much.
